Welcome to SEL: A Quick Start for Admins

Easily assign and manage SEL courses in Northpass to support student growth and well-being across your school community.

Help your school community thrive by guiding students through impactful Social Emotional Learning (SEL) courses. This article walks you through how to access, assign, and track SEL courses using Northpassโ€”so you can start making a difference right away.


๐Ÿ”‘ Step 1: Get Logged In and Set Your Password

To log in for the first time:

  1. Look for an email from [email protected].

  2. Open the email and click Activate Account.

  3. Youโ€™ll be directed to app.northpass.com/courses.

  4. Follow the prompts to set your password.

๐Ÿ” Tip: After your initial login, you can always access Northpass through your usual login page on either STOPit or HELPme Admin. Scroll to the bottom and click app.northpass.com.


๐Ÿš€ Step 2: Access Your Northpass Training

  1. Click on My Academy in the main menu.

  2. Select the Learn and then View.


๐Ÿ‘ฅ Step 3: Create a Group

Groups make it easier to assign courses and manage learners.

  1. Hover over the greyed left-hand panel.

  2. Click the People, then click Groups.

  3. Select Add.

  4. Name the group (e.g., "6th Grade SEL", "Advisory Period").

  5. Click Create.


๐Ÿ“˜ Step 4: Add Courses

  1. Open your newly created group.

  2. Select Add, then click Add Course.

  3. Click the green arrow to browse and select from the available SEL courses.

  4. Click Add to finalize.


๐Ÿ‘ค Step 5: Add Learners

  1. Within your group, click Add and then Add Learners.

  2. Manually enter learner emails or upload a list.

  3. Click Add to send login details and course access.

๐Ÿ’ก Learners will receive an email with instructions on how to begin.


๐Ÿ“Š Step 6: Track Progress

You can monitor learner progress and completion status by:

  • Hover over the greyed left-hand panel.

  • Select Analytics

  • Here you can pull a variety of reports to track your learner's performance and engagement.

This helps you ensure students are engaging with the content and benefiting from the lessons.
