At STOPit, student safety is our top priority. That's why we have a dedicated Incident Response Center (IRC) working around the clock, every day of the year. Our IRC team is your second set of eyes, ensuring that all reported concerns receive immediate attention.
How it Works:
Tip Submission: When a student, staff member, or parent submits a tip through the STOPit platform, our IRC team receives it instantly.
Rapid Response: With a response time of less than a minute, our trained agents review each tip carefully.
Escalation (When Necessary): If a tip indicates a life-threatening situation, such as self-harm or violence, the IRC team will immediately notify designated school officials and, if necessary, 911 emergency services.
Who are the STOPit IRC Agents?
STOPit’s IRC Agents receive and commit to ongoing, mandatory trainings in areas of psychological first-aid and mental health including suicide and depression, de-escalation, crisis management, and agent self-care.
Our IRC agents are highly trained professionals who undergo rigorous training in areas such as:
American Association of Suicidology (AAS): Teaches best and evidence-based suicide prevention practices and postvention principles, including how to assess youth at risk.
Johns Hopkins University: Agents provide psychological first aid to tipsters in an emergency by employing the RAPID model prescribed by JHU.
Mental Health First Aid: This training focuses on identifying and assisting individuals in need of mental health support.

* Our IRC team will not send messages to your students unless you have opted into (OOH) Out-of-Hours, 24-HR Vetting, or 24-Hour Vetting +. The standard IRC Procedure is to Monitor and Escalate as needed.
Why is the IRC Important?
Immediate Response: The IRC ensures that critical situations are addressed promptly, potentially saving lives.
24/7 Monitoring: You can rely on the IRC to monitor and escalate at any time, day or night.
Peace of Mind: Knowing that the IRC is always monitoring and responding to reports provides peace of mind to students, staff, and parents.
