Calling 911
Updated over a year ago

Q: Can I call 911 with the PunchAlert app?

A: PunchAlert is designed to always get the emergency alert to the nearest responders. If you are in a geofence then it will go to the responders associated with that geofence but you will also have the ability to call 911+, 911, or text-to-911. If you are not in a geofence, it will prompt you to dial 911, text-to-911, or use 911+. All of these are aimed to get you to the nearest official responder.

Q: Do all users have access to Text-to-911?

A. No, Text-to-911 is only available in certain jurisdictions. If you are in a Text-to-911 jurisdiction, it will be a choice available to you when you press the red button to declare an emergency alert. However, remember if you are on your organization's campus this text will not go to the organization. Once you have sent the text, be sure to notify the organization as well. You can use the coverage checker located at https://www.punchalert.com/Text-to-911 to determine if you are in a Text-to-911 area.

Q: What is 911+?

A: 911+ provides you the ability to call and talk with 911, send a text with your name, location, and telephone number to the 911 call center, alert your organization you are calling 911, and listed family/friends. This service is done through subscription costing 99 cents per month. What to know more? Visit https://punchalert.com/911plus/
